What is FIRO-B instrument?

FIRO-B instrument is a personality inventory that measures interpersonal style - how you behave toward others, and what you expect from others in their behaviour toward you.

The FIRO-B instrument measures 3 basic interpersonal needs (Inclusion, Control, Affection) on 2 dimensions (Expressed, Wanted).

Applications of FIRO-B instrument

Administration of FIRO-B instrument

FIRO-B instrument was designed for use with adults, with the reading age set at seventh grade level. FIRO-B instrument can be administered online or in pen-and-paper form.

Presentation of Results

A comprehensive 13 page Interpretive Report is generated when an individual takes FIRO-B instrument. It provides a structured picture of the way the test-taker interacts in one-on-one relationships, and in teams. It can also be used in conjunction with the MBTI instrument to produce a Leadership Report.
